Children's Christmas Party 2025
On Saturday, December 13, 2025, members of the Rotary Club of Brampton Flower City Centennial were pleased to volunteer at a children’s Christmas party organized by Advocates for Etobicoke Youth (AFEY), continuing a long-standing working relationship in support of youth programming. The event was held at the Woodbine Banquet Hall in Etobicoke and brought together 300+ children and their families from under-resourced neighborhoods and local schools for an energetic afternoon. Activities included lunch served by volunteers, live music from a steel pan performer, children’s karaoke, face painting, and plenty of dancing and play. Children also enjoyed time with the Toronto Raptors mascot, and the afternoon concluded with a visit from Santa, who ensured every child received a gift.
The celebration was attended by Ontario Premier Doug Ford, as well as long-time Rotarian Dhaman Kissoon and Superintendent Ron Taverner, both of whom serve in leadership roles with AFEY. Members of the Rotary Club of Brampton Flower City Centennial were proud to volunteer alongside AFEY volunteers and members of the Toronto Police Service, contributing to a well-run and positive event for children, families, and educators in attendance.
Second Project Helping Hands
On December 08, 2025, members of the Rotary Club of Brampton Flower City Centennial gathered at Nirvana The Flavours of India Restaurant for our Second Annual Project Helping Hands event.
With laughter, stories, and true Rotary camaraderie, we came together that evening to pack 50 backpacks filled with everyday essentials and donate them directly to St. Leonard’s Place Peel – a vital Brampton organization that supports men facing homelessness, mental health challenges, addiction, and justice-system reintegration.
Two representatives from St. Leonard’s Place joined us and shared moving insights into their work, reminding us how much these simple acts of care truly mean.
It was more than an assembly line – it was friends giving back to the community we love, enjoying each other’s company while making a real difference.
Thank you to every member and supporter who donated items, packed with care, and brought their energy and heart to the room. Because of you, 50 men will feel seen and supported this winter.

The Dictionary Program 2025 - Carberry Public School & Castle Oaks Public School
The Rotary Club of Brampton Flower City Centennial proudly continued its commitment to promoting youth literacy through our annual Dictionary Program. Today, our members visited two wonderful schools — Carberry Public School and Castle Oaks Public School — to deliver brand-new, Canadian-edition Webster’s dictionaries to every Grade 3 student.
This long-standing initiative reflects Rotary’s belief in empowering young learners with the tools they need to succeed. Placing a dictionary in a child’s hands is more than a simple gesture — it is an investment in curiosity, confidence, and lifelong learning.
Our volunteers were warmly welcomed by staff and students at both schools, and the excitement on the faces of the children as they received their very own dictionary was truly inspiring. Each book is branded with the Rotary logo, symbolizing our club’s ongoing commitment to education and community support.
By reaching students in both Carberry and Castle Oaks today, our club continues to strengthen literacy foundations and open doors to brighter futures. These small acts of kindness ripple outward — fostering hope, enriching classrooms, and reminding young people that their community believes in their potential.
2nd Annual Tree Planting Event
The Rotary Club of Brampton Flower City Centennial proudly hosted its 2nd Annual Tree Planting Event on Saturday, November 1, at Swinbourne Meadows in Ward 11, Mississauga. Members and volunteers worked together in teams to plant 90 native trees and shrubs, each chosen to thrive in our local climate and support a healthier ecosystem.
This community initiative plays an important role in promoting biodiversity, restoring natural habitats, and enhancing green spaces that benefit both residents and local wildlife. The event also reflects Rotary’s ongoing commitment to environmental sustainability and hands-on service.
We extend our sincere appreciation to all who participated and made this event a success, including Ward 11 Councillor Brad Butt and Mississauga–Malton MPP Deepak Anand, whose support and presence were greatly appreciated.
It was a day filled with teamwork, learning, and a shared commitment to leaving a lasting positive impact on our environment, one tree at a time.
Garden Harvest - Grass Roots (Rotary International)
We are founders of the Garden Harvest event through Grass Roots. Developing communal agriculture centers and shared camping and cookout locations help build a tight knit, well nourished community. A tradition in the community, our Garden Harvest has spread its roots around the town. Over the years, we have also begun accepting cash donations, kitchen fixtures, and cooking supplies. This year, we are excited to announce a distribution competition. We are sourcing ideas from the community to better get our 8 tonnes of produce to those who need it most.
PolioPlus (Rotary International)
We are partnered with the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation to provide medicare and aid to those in need.
Worldwide we have donated over 1 Billion dollars to providing education, immunizations, and healthcare to wipe out this deadly disease.
PolioPlus is a far reaching organization, dedicated to the Global Polio Eradication Initiative. Rotary is a leader in the private sector, seeking to rid the world of Polio. This crippling disease has plagued humanity for over 30 years. PolioPlus is setting a standard worldwide as the strongest model of public-private cooperation as we pursue a humanitarian goal.
Habitats for Human Beings (Rotary International)
Our club (and some members of the city council) partnered with Habitats for Beings to create 20 town homes on Announcie Street in downtown Anityville.Funds to complete the project were raised by Club members and generous citizens like yourself. Construction of the affordable housing was finished in 2015, with no insurance claims yet. The build was registered with Rotary International as a "Bicentennial Community Development Project."

We invest in mortgages where partner families' payments go to provide for future homes, allowing more families to break the cycle of poverty.
