Garden Harvest - Grass Roots (Rotary International)
We are founders of the Garden Harvest event through Grass Roots. Developing communal agriculture centers and shared camping and cookout locations help build a tight knit, well nourished community. A tradition in the community, our Garden Harvest has spread its roots around the town. Over the years, we have also begun accepting cash donations, kitchen fixtures, and cooking supplies. This year, we are excited to announce a distribution competition. We are sourcing ideas from the community to better get our 8 tonnes of produce to those who need it most.
PolioPlus (Rotary International)
We are partnered with the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation to provide medicare and aid to those in need.
Worldwide we have donated over 1 Billion dollars to providing education, immunizations, and healthcare to wipe out this deadly disease.
PolioPlus is a far reaching organization, dedicated to the Global Polio Eradication Initiative. Rotary is a leader in the private sector, seeking to rid the world of Polio. This crippling disease has plagued humanity for over 30 years. PolioPlus is setting a standard worldwide as the strongest model of public-private cooperation as we pursue a humanitarian goal.
Habitats for Human Beings (Rotary International)
Our club (and some members of the city council) partnered with Habitats for Beings to create 20 town homes on Announcie Street in downtown Anityville.Funds to complete the project were raised by Club members and generous citizens like yourself. Construction of the affordable housing was finished in 2015, with no insurance claims yet. The build was registered with Rotary International as a "Bicentennial Community Development Project."
